Use tool

How to use it

Compare two products by price per unit instead of sticker price. Enter price and quantity for A and B to see which is cheaper per gram, item, milliliter or any other shared unit.

  1. Enter price and quantity for product A and product B.
  2. Make sure A and B quantities use the same unit.
  3. Select Calculate and compare the unit prices.
Formula
price ÷ quantity
Comparison
A vs B unit price
Unit
Whatever shared quantity unit you enter
Requirement
Quantity must be greater than zero

900 g for 498 vs 600 g for 358

A is about 0.553 per gram and B about 0.597 per gram, so A is cheaper on unit price alone.

Do not enter A in grams and B in kilograms without converting first. The tool assumes both quantity values are directly comparable.

Lower sticker price does not always mean lower unit price

A smaller pack can cost less at checkout but more for each gram or item. Dividing price by quantity puts differently sized packs on the same scale.

Use one common quantity unit

Compare grams with grams, milliliters with milliliters, or items with items. For 900 g versus 1.2 kg, convert one side so the quantities are 900 and 1200 in grams.

Quality differences are outside the calculation

The result does not account for ingredients, performance, shipping, loyalty points or expiry dates. It answers only the price-per-quantity question.

The biggest pack is not automatically the best buy

A lower unit price can still waste money if the extra quantity expires or is never used. For perishable goods, combine unit price with realistic consumption.
