Artist Alley table fit calculator

Check whether display elements fit across a convention table.

Use tool

How to use it

Check whether several display items fit side by side across a table. Enter each item width plus one common gap between neighboring items to see used width, remaining width and a fit/exceed result.

  1. Enter the usable table width in cm.
  2. Enter one display-item width per line.
  3. Enter a non-negative gap between neighboring items and select Check.
Used width
sum of item widths + gap × (item count − 1)
Remaining
table width − used width
Fits
remaining width is zero or greater
Layout
One horizontal row only

30, 20 and 18 cm items with 2 cm gaps use 72 cm

The items total 68 cm and there are two 2 cm gaps, giving 72 cm used. On a 90 cm table, 18 cm remains.

Table legs, clamps, signs, checkout space and edge safety margins are not subtracted automatically. Measure and enter the width that is actually usable.

Gaps are inserted only between items

Three items create two gaps. If you also need left and right edge margins, reduce the available table width before entering it.

Item widths should be positive

A zero-width placeholder does not represent a physical display. Use a temporary estimate and replace it with the real dimension later.

Depth and height are outside this check

This is a one-dimensional width test. Shelf depth, poster height and interference with neighboring structures need separate review.

A negative remainder shows the shortfall

If the result exceeds the table, the magnitude of the negative remaining width tells you roughly how much must be removed or rearranged.

Test the real setup when space is tight

Cloth, mounting hardware and cables can consume space that is hard to model numerically. A physical setup is the final check.
