Use tool

How to use it

Add utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign to an absolute URL while keeping unrelated query parameters already in the link.

  1. Enter a full URL such as https://example.com/page.
  2. Enter source, medium and campaign values as needed.
  3. Select Build and copy the generated URL.
Supported UTM fields

Blank UTM field
Does not overwrite or remove an existing value

Existing query parameters stay in the URL

https://example.com/?ref=home with source newsletter keeps ref=home and adds utm_source=newsletter.

This builder does not include utm_term or utm_content. If the starting URL already has a UTM parameter and the matching input field is blank, that existing parameter remains unchanged.

Enter a complete URL

Include the scheme, such as https://example.com/page, rather than entering only a hostname or a relative path.

Existing UTM values are replaced only when you enter a new value

For source, medium or campaign, a non-empty field sets that parameter. Leaving the field empty does not actively delete an existing parameter from the starting URL.

Special characters are made URL-safe automatically

Spaces and other special characters in campaign values are encoded in the generated link, so you do not need to replace them by hand.

Consistent naming matters more than the builder itself

Analytics systems treat different spellings and capitalization as different campaign values. Decide conventions such as email vs Email before generating many links.
