Shipping method is also an ASCII code from 1 to 6
The current bulk-registration CSV uses 1=unspecified, 2=chilled carrier arranged by seller, 3=Mercari shipping, 4=Mercari chilled, 5=Mercari frozen, and 6=Mercari Biz shipping.
The CSV stores the code rather than the display label.
Codes with surrounding spaces are rejected
A value such as ` 3` can look harmless in a spreadsheet while still containing an ASCII space. The checker now validates the original cell, not a trimmed copy, so only an exact single digit from 1 to 6 passes.
This catches a common copy/paste mistake before upload.
Shipping options can change as the service evolves. Treat the current Mercari Shops template as the source of truth instead of reusing an old code table from a past CSV or article.
A supported code is not automatically the right shipping choice
Food requiring refrigeration or freezing needs an appropriate cool-shipping option. Code 3 can be syntactically valid and still be the wrong operational choice for a product.
This tool validates the code table; product-specific shipping suitability remains a human decision.
Review condition codes separately
Condition is another required 1–6 code, and columns full of similar digits are easy to confuse.
Use the condition-code checker as a separate pass.
