Format

Maximum width (px)
Min 1
Quality: 80%
Min 10 / Max 95

Input and settings example

Compare JPEG quality 90 and 70 on the same image, then compare appearance and output size.

Output is not guaranteed to be smaller. JPEG/WebP quality settings do not affect PNG.

What to know before using it

Lowering JPEG quality alone is not always the best route. If the source is larger than needed, reducing dimensions can save more bytes while preserving appearance.

Common failure points

  • Logos and text-heavy graphics may suit PNG or WebP better than JPEG.
  • A target byte size is not always achievable for every image.
  • If privacy matters, also review EXIF metadata handling.

Practical example

For web publishing, choose maximum dimensions first, then format and quality, and inspect at the real display size.
