A missing Status column is different from a blank Status cell
In Shopify product CSV, omitting the Status column defaults the imported status to `active`. If the Status column is present, the relevant rows need a value. This checker therefore treats a missing column as a warning and a present-but-blank value as an error.
Valid product-CSV values checked here are `active`, `draft`, and `archived`.
How to read the result
Fix an ERROR by supplying a valid Status value or deliberately removing the column when that is the intended import behavior. A WARNING means this CSV has no Status column, so the checker cannot verify per-product state.
Shopify admin can show additional states such as Unlisted, but those are separate from the values documented for the product CSV Status field.
A practical failure this prevents
If you intended to import products as drafts but accidentally removed Status, the documented default can make them active. Keeping Status and leaving cells blank is a different situation.
Because product state affects storefront readiness, check this before a bulk import rather than after pricing and content work.
What this checker does not prove
It does not verify sales-channel publication or the final state inside Shopify admin. It only validates the presence and values of the CSV Status column.
After import, verify a small batch in Shopify before applying the same file pattern at scale.
