Price tag sheet layout calculator

Calculate how many price tags fit on one print sheet.

Use tool

How to use it

Calculate how many equal-size price tags, labels or small cards fit on one sheet from sheet dimensions, tag dimensions and the gap between tags.

  1. Enter sheet width and height in mm.
  2. Enter one tag’s width and height plus the gap between tags.
  3. Calculate columns, rows and labels per sheet.
Columns
floor((sheet width + gap) / (tag width + gap))
Rows
Same approach for height
Gap
Zero or greater
Excluded
Printer margins, crop marks and bleed

A4 210 × 297 mm with 60 × 35 mm tags and 5 mm gaps gives 21 labels

The layout fits 3 columns and 7 rows, for 21 labels per sheet in this simplified model.

A home printer may not use the entire sheet, and professional print layouts may need crop marks or bleed. Reduce the usable sheet area or reserve margins before relying on the count.

The gap is between neighboring tags

The formula does not automatically add the same gap around the outer edge. Subtract any required sheet margin before entering the usable dimensions.

Rotation is not compared automatically

A 90° tag rotation can sometimes fit more pieces. Swap tag width and height and compare the second calculation yourself.

Partial rows and columns do not count

If the geometry allows 2.9 columns, only two complete columns are counted.

Cutting method influences spacing

A craft knife, guillotine cutter or perforation setup can require different separation between tags. Increase the gap when cutting tolerance matters.

Print-production rules are separate

Bleed, crop marks, safe areas and non-printable margins are outside this count. Follow the printer or print shop specification for final artwork.
