A4 does not have one fixed pixel size until you choose a DPI
A4 is a physical size of 210 × 297 mm. Pixels measure image dimensions, so “How many pixels is A4?” has no single answer. At 300 DPI it is about 2480 × 3508 px; at 350 DPI it is about 2894 × 4093 px.
This tool combines the DPI and orientation to calculate the corresponding pixel dimensions.
Changing orientation swaps width and height, not the amount of image data required
Portrait uses 210 × 297 mm, while landscape uses 297 × 210 mm. The width and height results swap accordingly.
A landscape design is still the same A4 paper size; only its orientation changes.
A screen preview and a print-ready A4 image do not need the same pixel dimensions
Web previews often need far fewer pixels than print production. A print submission has to satisfy both the finished physical size and the required resolution.
For print work, check the destination’s DPI requirement before entering a value here.
For other paper sizes or custom dimensions, use a fixed-DPI calculator
A5, B5, postcards, business cards, and custom sizes are outside this A4-only calculator. Enter the actual width and height with the 300 DPI calculator or another fixed-DPI tool.
You can also check dimensions in the Paper sizes reference.
