Is the built-in WooCommerce CSV import still enough?
For occasional bulk edits, probably yes. Automation starts to make sense when the same cleanup or sync work keeps coming back.
Do not add a plugin just because it exists
Every extension adds another thing to configure, update and troubleshoot. If the built-in importer handles a monthly batch comfortably, simple is good.
A successful import can still contain bad data
A wrong price in a valid column may import perfectly. Back up first, test 5–10 products, run the full import, then inspect real product pages.
Choose automation by the manual step you want to remove
Repeated CSV reshaping suggests import tooling. Manual inventory reconciliation suggests sync tooling. Start from the repetitive work, not from a giant feature list.

A valid CSV can still make the wrong changes
A CSV can pass every format check and still contain the wrong price, stock value, image, or variation. On a large import, one mistake can affect many products at once, so check before upload and again after the import.
Take a backup first so you have a clean way back if the import goes wrong.
Test price, stock, images, and variations on 5–10 products before updating the full catalog.
Do not stop at “no errors.” Open the admin and storefront and check that the changes are the ones you intended.

When the same manual job keeps coming back, the official marketplace is a good place to look for an extension that removes that specific step.
- Search for the task you want to stop doing, not just a feature name
- Back up first and test the extension on a small set of products
